Southampton to sign Tadanari Lee

02 January 2012 - 06:35

Championship side Southampton are closing in on a move for Japan international Tadanari Lee. The 26 year old striker shot to fame in last year's Asian Cup, with the Sanfrecce striker scoring the winning goal in the final against Australia.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Southampton are reportedly putting the finishing touches on a deal worth around 1.8m GBP for the striker, who has burst onto the international scene last year. The player would have no problem securing a work permit, as he is now considered a first team regular for the Japan national team.

The Saints are currently top of the league in the Championship, and manager Nigel Adkins is desperate to add to his squad in January as the club look to secure promotion to the Premier League.
