Gary Cahill nears Chelsea deal

14 January 2012 - 07:16

Chelsea are expected to complete a deal for Bolton defender Gary Cahill by Monday afternoon. The Bolton defender will put pen to paper on a five year contract worth over 20m GBP, whilst Bolton will receive around 7m GBP for the England defender.

  • The Blues have been chasing Cahill for over a month, but at one point the deal appeared to be dead in the water due to hefty wage demands and Bolton's hefty price tag.

However, Cahill has reportedly dropped his demand to around 80,000 GBP per week; whilst Bolton took a smaller figure for the sale of the centre back.

Andre Villas-Boas will have discussions with Cahill this weekend in London, and the centre back will be presented to the media on Monday afternoon at the latest.
