Schalke confident on new Raul deal

Schalke are confident that they can tie Spanish legend Raul down to a brand new contract. Raul's deal at the Gelsenkirchen comes to an end this summer, and the German side are hopeful that they can agree terms with the forward.

  • "All of the signals coming from Raul in recent days have been extremely positive," club president Clemens Tonnies revealed. <br />

    "He has already dropped anchor in Schalke and he identifies himself with the club and the fans. He really feels happy here. I have a very good feeling."<br />

    Raul, 34, has been linked with a move to Premier League side Blackburn recently but the former Spain captain rejected a move to England whilst he is happy in Germany.
