Chelsea scout Bengali-Fode Koita

Chelsea have sent scouts to prepare a report on Montpellier striker, Bengali-Fode Koita. The France under-21 forward has played in 3 games for the Ligue 1 side so far this season, but there are big hopes that the 6 foot 1 striker could be a first team regular soon.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • Currently Koita finds himself on the fringes of the first team, as Souleymane Camara, John Utaka and the impressive Olivier Giroud keep his first team opportunities limited.
Despite the lack of first team opportunities, Chelsea have been sent glowing references from their French scouting network who have instructed Villas-Boas to take a closer look at the player of Guinean origin.
Koita has been with Montpellier since he began in the youth teams back in 2006. In 2008, his hometown club Paris St Germain were interested in the forward but a move did not materialize.
Montpellier are expected to demand more than 5 million EUR should they decide to part with their talented attacker.
