David Beckham eyes Olympic captaincy

Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham wants to captain Great Britain during the 2012 Olympics in London. Beckham this week put pen to paper on a new two year deal with the MLS side, and hopes that he can play for Team GB this summer.

    "I would love to be captain," Beckham said. "I have led my country before and know how special it would be to lead them into the Olympics.<br />

    "I've had conversations with [coach] Stuart Pearce, but not been selected."
