Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has no plans to let South Korean striker Ji Dong-Won leave Teeside in the transfer window, despite talk of a move away from the Stadium of Light on loan.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?
  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • O'Neill revealed that several clubs from abroad have made enquiries, but Sunderland want to keep the youngster and hope that he can fight for a place in the first team.

German side Wolfsburg are believed to be amongst the teams making an offer for the player.

Martin O'Neill said: “We have had a few phone calls from clubs abroad who would like to take Ji on loan, but we have knocked them back.

“The fact is, we cannot afford to lose any of our squad at the moment but, besides that, Ji is a player who has done well for us.

“The lad has talent, but he has just come over here and is still learning the game. We want to see how he progresses and develops."
