Bolton will complete a move for New York Red Bulls' defender Tim Ream on Tuesday, after his new club won an appeal for him to receive a work permit in the Premier League. Bolton's initial application for a work permit had been turned down.
Tim Ream had been earmarked by Bolton manager Owen Coyle as a potential replacement for Gary Cahill, who joined Premier League rivals Chelsea two weeks ago for 7 million GBP.
Ream has joined Bolton for a fee of around $2.8 million USD, making him the most expensive MLS defensive export yet.
Ream will sign a four year deal at the Reebok Stadium and is expected to be available for the Trotters' game in the Premier League this weekend.
