Liverpool eye Tevez and Carroll swap deal

Liverpool eye Tevez and Carroll swap deal

29 January 2012 - 05:01

The Observer reports that Manchester City have been offered Andy Carroll as part of a swap deal for Carlos Tevez. Andy Carroll has struggled at Liverpool since joining from Newcastle over a year ago, and it seems that frustrated manager Kenny Dalglish wants to part with the England international after just 12 months.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • According to the report, Liverpool had offered the 35 million GBP striker to the Citizens as they pursued wantaway striker Carlos Tevez. The Argentine forward has been linked with mega money moves to Inter Milan, AC Milan and PSG, but Liverpool had hoped to complete a sensational move for the forward prior to the transfer window, seeing off their European rivals.

However, Man City are not interested in Andy Carroll and Roberto Mancini immediately turned down the offer.

Reports of Carroll being offered to Liverpool are sure to frustrate the player himself, who has failed to adapt to life at Anfield and question marks continue to surround his long term future at the club.
