31 January 2012 - 15:19

Chelsea have today completed a move for Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne. The creative midfield whizzkid has penned a five and a half year contract at Stamford Bridge, but will spend the remainder of the season on loan at former club Racing Genk.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Chelsea paid a reported 7 million GBP to wrap up the move for de Bruyne, and the player said on the official club website: "To come to a team like Chelsea is a dream but now I have to work hard to achieve the level that's necessary."

De Bruyne helped Genk to the league title last year, and Andre Villas-Boas said of the player arrival: "A club has to look to the future, whether it's with this manager or another. He's a good bet for the future."
