Swansea rule out loan exit for Dobbie

Swansea rule out loan exit for Dobbie

16 February 2012 - 05:54

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out a loan move away for Stephen Dobbie. Dobbie is unhappy at his lack of first team football, and is keen to join another English club.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Dobbie has been chased by Middlesbrough, Preston and Blackpool; but it appears that he will be forced to remain at Swansea until the end of the season.

"I have to protect the club so none of the senior players will be going out," said Rodgers.

"I have got empathy for Stephen. I have spoken to Stephen to explain the situation and I"m sure he has been frustrated not to make the squads.

"But the players are well paid, so it's just unlucky for them and he has to get on with it.

"I know Stephen wants to play games. The great thing about him is that he is not driven by money - he is purely driven by playing football.

"But ultimately I have got to think about what happens at Swansea City."
