Manchester City have confirmed that Argentinian international striker Carlos Tevez will be in line for a shock return to action against Preston North End in a reserves' League Cup game.
The Argentine international has apologised to Roberto Mancini for his behaviour in recent months, and will now return to action for the Citizens.
Tevez could therefore be in line for a shock recall to the first team as soon as next week, when City take on Swansea.
"There is a likelihood that Carlos Tevez will play in this reserve game," said a club spokesman.
