Darren Bent faces 3 months out

28 February 2012 - 04:52

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent will be out for the remainder of the season, after he ruptured his ankle ligaments during the weekend's game against Wigan in the 0-0 draw at the DW Stadium.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Darren Bent is now likely to miss out on a place in England's Euro 2012 squad, as the 28 year old looked desperate to rekindle the form that made him one of England's most feared strikers.

"I'm gutted to be out for so long at such a crucial stage of the season," said Bent on Twitter. "Hopefully my recovery will be as quick as possible."

Darren Bent has already seen a top ankle specialist regarding his injury, and is now likely to miss the remainder of the year.
