Sunderland winger James McClean has signed a new contract with the Black Cats that will keep the Republic of Ireland attacker at the Stadium of Light until 2015.

  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • McClean joined the club from Derry City last August, and manager Martin O'Neill has thrust the player into the limelight with a number of stunning performances.

"I'm really enjoying my football and to have earned a new contract is a dream," McClean said.

"I'm over the moon to see my next three years with Sunderland."

Meanwhile, manager O'Neill said of the new contract: "He has had an explosive start to his career here at Sunderland and long may it continue."
