McClean signs new Sunderland deal

Sunderland winger James McClean has signed a new contract with the Black Cats that will keep the Republic of Ireland attacker at the Stadium of Light until 2015.

  • McClean joined the club from Derry City last August, and manager Martin O'Neill has thrust the player into the limelight with a number of stunning performances.<br />

    "I'm really enjoying my football and to have earned a new contract is a dream," McClean said.<br />

    "I'm over the moon to see my next three years with Sunderland."<br />

    Meanwhile, manager O'Neill said of the new contract: "He has had an explosive start to his career here at Sunderland and long may it continue."
