McClean signs new Sunderland deal

Sunderland winger James McClean has signed a new contract with the Black Cats that will keep the Republic of Ireland attacker at the Stadium of Light until 2015.

McClean joined the club from Derry City last August, and manager Martin O'Neill has thrust the player into the limelight with a number of stunning performances.<br />

"I'm really enjoying my football and to have earned a new contract is a dream," McClean said.<br />

"I'm over the moon to see my next three years with Sunderland."<br />

Meanwhile, manager O'Neill said of the new contract:&nbsp;"He has had an explosive start to his career here at Sunderland and long may it continue."
