Newcastle monitoring Geoffrey Kondogbia

27 March 2012 - 02:32

Newcastle's French scouting network have turned their attentions to Lens midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. The 19-year-old is having a successful campaign in Ligue 2 with his club, and Alan Pardew's side are now weighing up a 3 million Euro move.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • The French under-19 international has just broken into Lens' first team and reportedly attracted the interest of Arsenal last year, after Gilles Grimandi was sent to watch first team games with Kondogbia in action.

Newcastle have already signed Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid from France in recent years, and are expected to sign even more youngsters in the coming months as they also have been monitoring Reims midfielder Romain Amalfitano.
