Allegri confident he will keep Milan job

09 April 2012 - 07:18

AC Milan manager Massimilliano Allegri remains confident that he will keep his job at the San Siro, even if the Rossoneri fail to win the Scudetto this year. Allegri's side slipped one point behind Juventus at the top of the table.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Milan slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina at the weekend, seeing Juventus jump into pole position in the league table. In addition, last week Barcelona knocked them out of the Champions League. There has been some talk of a possible sacking for Allegri come the end of the year.

Allegri said: "I don't feel that my job is at risk. The club will make their evaluations at the end of the season. Nobody expected this defeat, not even us, but we have the character to get back on our feet. It can happen in a season. Don't forget we had a long run-up to go four points clear of Juve, so you do pay for this strain. It's not over yet, though.

"We've spoken too much about the calendar; we need to play match by match. We'll see in mid May who's ahead and who deserves to win."
