Kompany has no plans to quit Man City

28 May 2012 - 00:46

Some of Europe's biggest clubs have been monitoring the progress of Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, but the Belgium international has revealed that he has no plans to swap the Etihad Stadium for a move elsewhere.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Kompany had been instrumental this year in City's charge for the Premier League title, and Real Madrid and Juventus have both reportedly expressed an interest in the former Hamburg defender.

But the centre back has no plans to quit City, and will instead stay at the Premier League champions, and the Belgian is planning Champions League glory with his side.

"I'm happy in Manchester. Lots of people want me to talk about moving but what interests me is Manchester City. The project here is not just a sporting one. It will bring a lot to the city and to the people," said Kompany.

"We can't stop with the title. We want to win the Champions League. Is it possible in three to four years? Maybe not, but when I see what's been achieved at the club in the last few years, nothing is impossible."
