Wenger happy with Eisfeld progress

11 November 2012 - 07:29

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger yesterday confirmed that he is very happy with the progress of young German midfielder Thomas Eisfeld, and that the player could soon feature in his first team plans.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Thomas Eisfeld came off of the bench in Arsenal's 7-5 victory over Reading in the Carling Cup last week, and put in a cameo performance to see the Gunners over the finishing line.

It seems that Wenger is now so impressed with the German's performances, that he is even considering giving the player his first team debut.

“He is a very interesting player and I think he will feature in the Premier League before the end of the season," said the French boss.

“He understands football very well, has great intelligence on the pitch, is a great mover of the ball and a great mover of himself.

“We were concerned that he lacked some power but in the last six months he has improved tremendously and now he is absolutely a different player when you watch him play.

“When the ball goes to him, you always feel that something positive will happen.”
