Aston Villa and Fulham are both battling for the signature of Ghana international Derek Boateng. The 29-year-old central midfielder will end his spell at Dnipro this month and move to the Premier League.
The player - capped 40 times by his country - has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and it appears that Aston Villa could be in pole position to secure his coveted signature.
The Villans are desperate to find some midfield mettle for the coming months as they battle relegation.
Boateng has previously played for Swedish side AIK, in Greece with Panathinaikos and in Spain with Getafe, whilst also enjoying a brief stint in the Bundesliga with Cologne.
