Mario Gotze to join Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will complete the signing of Mario Gotze from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the year, after the Bavarian side matched a $48.2 million release clause in his contract. The Germany international will make a move to Dortmund's bitter rivals prior to their UEFA Champions League semi-final.

$48.2 million is the price matched by Bayern in Gotze's contract, and the attacking midfielder has already began contract talks with the Bundesliga champions.<br />

Gotze helped Dortmund to titles with the Dortmund side in 2011 and 2012, but this year Bayern have upstaged Dortmund into first place.
