Ljungberg slates trophyless Arsenal

28 May 2013 - 06:59

Gunners legend Freddie Ljungberg - who played over 200 games for the club - has slated his former team for their lack of trophies last season as well as their celebration of 4th place.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Arsenal are expected to invest heavily in their first team this summer, as Arsene Wenger faces mounting pressure at the Emirates.

"I'm not too happy that they celebrated (winning fourth position)," said Ljungberg. "How I see the club is different, I'm from the old school and Pat Rice said to me if you don't win a trophy every year it is a big failure.

"It's a bit different now and they have all the debt from the new stadium and we will have to see what happens this summer - hopefully they will have a better team next year."
