Everton have parted company with goalkeeper Jan Mucha and German midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger. The duo's contracts had expired at Goodison Park.

  • The 31-year-old midfielder, Hitzlsperger, had joined on a short term deal after he was released by Wolfsburg last year. Meanwhile, 30 year old Mucha has struggled to displace Tim Howard as Everton number 1 in the first team, so the former Legia Warsaw player will be allowed to leave.<br />

Hitzlsperger has been linked with a move to German side Werder Bremen whilst Mainz are also believed to be keen.
