Everton chasing Marlon de Jesús?

19 June 2013 - 14:44

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been preparing a dossier on Marlon de Jesús, the young Ecuadorian international forward currently playing for Emelec in his homeland.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Everton's new coach is famous for finding top talent from South America and bringing players over to England to progress their careers in the Premier League. Martinez brought several South American players to Wigan, some of whom have gone on to other Premier League teams.

The Spanish boss is eager to sign Marlon de Jesús as he has been highly recommended to Martinez by one of his scouts. The 21-year-old spent some time playing in Israel with Maccabi Haifa, before finally joining Emelec last year. He scored 17 goals in 52 games.

The player is most comfortable playing behind a striker, but is also happy playing alone up front.
