Tottenham rule out move for Bernard, Jackson Martinez

Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bernard have both been strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer. However, manager Andre Villas-Boas has now ruled out a move for both players.

Spurs have almost completed a deal to sign Paulinho this week, whilst Leandro Damiao remains a long term target. But their efforts to sign Bernard and Martinez appear to have failed as Andre Villas-Boas confirmed neither player will join Tottenham: "Jackson Martinez? No. Bernard? He&rsquo;s a player that we monitor like others, but I think nothing will happen."<br />

Tottenham are set to turn their attention to other targets after missing out on a deal for the duo. Jackson Martinez could also now move to Juventus, the Italian champions who are on the watch for a new striker.
