Preview: Spurs vs Blackburn

Preview: Spurs vs Blackburn

28 October 2007 - 14:53

The agreement of Juande Ramos to become Tottenham's new boss will give Spurs a much needed boost ahead of this tough match with Blackburn. Mark Hughes brings his side knowing that he was the subject of interest from Spurs for the vacant job, and are on a three-game winning run.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Gardner has an ankle problem and Jenas sustained a knock in training and may miss out, whilst Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen remains doubtful despite training again. Steven Reid is short of match fitness after 14 months of back and knee problems, and is likely to miss out.

The 100th competitive meeting of Tottenham and Blackburn sees Spurs without a win in seven Premier League games, and Blackburn winning the last five in all competitions.

    Hughes: we have an advantage

Going into a game against a club that have turmoil and disruption around them at the moment - we would like to think that's to our advantage.

"But they're a quality side on their day and you know if the crowd get behind them that they can be difficult.

"It's up to us to play as well as have done recently and get the job done."

    Teams

    Eyefootball Premiership Predictor

    Spurs 1-1 Blackburn

Juande Ramos will watch on as his new side will battle hard to an in-form Blackburn side. However, Spurs would be lucky to get three points against this rapidly improving side, and Spurs' change of fortunes is not set to start immediately. Spurs will have to watch McCarthy closely after he grabbed a brace last week, whilst Kaboul is a danger around the penalty area.

    Prediction: 1-1 draw

    Goalscorer(s): Younes Kaboul, Benni McCarthy.
