After just securing Thibaut Courtois for another season on loan , Atletico Madrid are now pushing for a permanent move for the young Belgian goalkeeper.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • In what has been a successful two-season loan spell at the Vicente Calderon, Atletico Madrid are making the necessary moves to sign Courtois on a permanent contract from Chelsea. Chelsea have however indicated a desire to keep the player and make him a potential successor to the aging Cech.

Courtois' heroics between the sticks for the Madrid club has made him one of the most coveted young goalkeepers in world football. He was instrumental in the club's push for champions league qualitification last season and was awarded the 'Zamora Award' for his efforts.

Courtois has stated his desire to be in goal for Belgium in the World Cup next year and being a regular in the Atletico Madrid team will be pivotal for him to achieve that goal.
