Liverpool's manager Brendan Rodgers is contemplating a transfer bid for Dutch winger Eljero Elia. The 26-year-old Werder Bremen star has been a long term target for the Reds and is hoping to move to England.
Elia, capped 27 times by the Netherlands, has enjoyed a successful past season at Bremen since joining from Juventus. The 5 foot 9 attacker has impressed many in Germany with his consistency.<br />
One stumbling block in a potential transfer to England is the reported 9 million Euros that Werder are looking to recoup from a potential sale. Elia joined Bremen as part of a 6.5 million Euro deal, and would be hoping to redeem some substantial profit on a transfer.<br />
Elia is a new target for Liverpool after the Anfield club's move for Nacer Chadli reportedly fell through after Twente slapped a 14 million Euro pricetag on the player.
