  • Celtic had accepted a sum of £12 million for the midfielder from Southampton and it was for sure that Wanyama would be on his way to St Mary’s this summer until his agent had said that those talks had come to a close.

"We are not in talks with Southampton and have not been since their final offer of terms, which was more than two weeks ago,” his agent Ivan Modia told Sky Sports.

The midfielder has been attracting interest from many other top clubs this summer since  his performances in Celtic’s Champions League stint where the Scottish club managed to beat the La Liga giants Barcelona at Celtic Park.

Cardiff are in talks with Celtic about acquiring the midfielder's signature but it is still unknown whether they could afford the transfer fee put to them.
