Paulinho Denies Interest From Real Madrid

27 June 2013 - 15:51

Tottenham would be hoping to cause a stir in the transfer market by nearing Paulinho’s signature. It has been reported that the Brazilian has denied any interest from Real Madrid.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Earlier rumours suggested that Real were looking to seize the midfielder’s summer move with a late bid of their own. According to Sky Sport, the Corinthians midfielder has ruled out the reports that linked him with a move to the Spanish giants. He has also reserved his decision over Tottenham move until after the Confederations Cup final on Sunday.

“It’s not true about Real Madrid, the only offer that has come is from Tottenham,”

“But I have already said that I will only evaluate it after the Confederations Cup.”

This statement from the Brazilian star would bring relief to the Spurs, who have had him on their shopping list. The Brazilian club have resigned themselves to losing the talented playmaker this summer after reports in Brazil suggested that the Spurs are set to meet the club’s buy-out clause of £17 million.

His compatriot, David Luiz, praised him and insisted that he could make it big in the English top flight.

“Paulinho is a fantastic player, both defending and attacking”

He added, “He is complete, so he can come to England. It’s a great moment for him.”
