Liverpool still chasing Mkhitaryan, Shakhtar open to bids

28 June 2013 - 06:06

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been told that he is free to leave Shakhtar if the right offer is made. Liverpool and Juventus were linked with his signature but it appears German side Borussia Dortmund is winning the race for his signing.

  • “Henrikh is an important player in our team. Shakhtar wants to keep him, but we are willing to listen and consider all suggestions for a transfer," Sergei Palkin said, Shakhtar's sporting director.

“We have already parted with Willian (to Anzhi) and Fernandinho (to Manchester City), but the club will not just sell players. In the near future we will also gain quality, designed to replace the leading players, possibly including Henrikh."
