Edinson Cavani Reportedly Nears Chelsea Switch

Edinson Cavani has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea. According to Mediaset reports, Cavani’s representatives have agreed on a five-year contract valued at 7.2million pounds.

  • Cavani will now have to convince Napoli to bring down the amount mentioned in his buy-out clause. The Stamford Bridge have already shown their unwillingness to meet the £53million buy-out clause for the star striker.

The striker is currently on international duty for Uruguay in Brazil, where he will be playing against Italy in Sunday’s Confederations Cup third-fourth place final. Cavani said earlier this week that he wanted to meet up with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis as soon as possible to push for his transfer. But Aurelio insisted that any talks to be held would be unnecessary as Cavani could be sold only if a club meets his buy-out clause.

Napoli were prepared to accept Ramires as a part of swap deal but Chelsea have shown some reluctance in parting with the Brazilian. It is also understood that Manchester City have dropped interest in the player and Real Madrid have turned their attention in getting Luis Suarez.
