The 22-year-old Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, who was believed to have accepted personal terms with the Premier League champions Manchester United, has recently tweeted: ‘I love Barcelona,’ which may be a signal that the La Liga giants have succeeded in retaining the young starlet.

Following an excellent first half hat-trick in the final of the U21 European Championships, there is a widespread belief that the midfielder will only improve upon his ability he has shown, but now it remains to be seen whether he chooses to stay at Barcelona or at Old Trafford, or potentially move elsewhere.<br />

Hence, it is worth looking out whether the Spanish playmaker would fit into Manchester United’s plans. It is clear that the arrival of Thiago would alter the way in which Manchester United play, if not the formation as they set out to accommodate the big names on their roster.
