Everton To Sign Two Wigan Players

02 July 2013 - 19:13

According to SkySports, Wigan striker Arouna Kone is prepared to link up with former boss Roberto Martinez at Everton in a deal worth £5millions. Wigan defender, Antolin Alcaraz, is also expected to follow his teammate to the Goodison Park, the report suggests.

 • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
 • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
 • Latics chairman Dave Whelan has reportedly agreed to the club’s move for the Wigan duo as he admits that a deal might be struck within the next 24 hours that will see the forward move to Goodison Park. Whereas, defender Antolin would join in as a free agent.
Arouna Kone is an Ivory Coast international and has also drawn the attention of Swansea and Norwich City. He completed a move to Wigan from his former club Levante last summer and also scored 11 goals for them.
Kone has revealed his desire for a bigger stage to showcase his talents and has confirmed his will to leave the club following relegation to Championship. He has two more years left on his contract with Wigan.
"You always have ambitions as a footballer, and I don't intend to play in the English second division," Kone was quoted by The Sun.
"Wigan have gone down, which is a real shame. It's up to them to set out their stance about my situation. I aim to play for one of the best clubs in England, and I hope I will get the chance.
"I've had plenty of approaches, I can't reveal the names of the clubs. But Crystal Palace have gone up, and from the moment a club is in the Premier League that is good for me.
"I'm under contract with Wigan for two more years. But if there is an offer that is good for both me and Wigan I will seek to leave."
