Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring the progress of Dnipro star Yevhen Konoplyanka. The clubs are reportedly interested in making an offer for the player as per reports in England.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The player, who is dubbed as ‘The Ukrainian Messi’, caught the eye first with his sensational displays in Euro 2012, and boosted his profile even more when he scored a scorcher against England during the World Cup qualifiers last year held at the Wembley Stadium.

Reports suggest that Arsenal and Manchester United have joined the fight for the 23-year old sensation, with Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen also linked with a switch for the player. Konoplyanka us now willing to move on to the top leagues in Europe after plying his trade Ukrainian Premier League for 6 years.

During his time in Ukraine, he has won the Ukrainian Footballer of the Year award twice, in 2010 and 2012.  The Ukrainian star's agent claims that the transfer can be relatively straightforward if the clubs meet Dnipro's valuation for the player which stands at 13m pounds.

Arsenal and Manchester United will have to match the fee if they are to sign the player who is well known across Ukraine as the 'Ukrainian Messi'.
