Sunderland's manager Paolo Di Canio is already looking forward to the new season as he prepares to unleash his new signing from AZ Alkmaar, Jozy Altidore. the American international joined the Black Cats last week.
Paolo Di Canio has been very busy in the transfer market this year and has recently been linked with a deal for Tom Huddlestone of Tottenham. However, Sunderland's top priority this summer was to wrap up a deal for a striker.
"Altidore is one of the top strikers in Europe. He only joined us on Tuesday but I'm very happy, curious and excited because I have a very good attacking side at the moment," said Di Canio.
"I'm really pleased because a new arrival can benefit the squad and also individuals because there is competition up front."
