Andre Ayew eyes Premier League switch

Andre Ayew eyes Premier League switch

13 July 2013 - 14:13

Marseille striker Andre Ayew has told reporters that he hopes to one day play in England. The forward, who has been linked with moves to both Arsenal and Tottenham in recent years, indicated that his future could well be in the Premier League.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The 23-year-old player, who is comfortable playing on the flanks or up front, has been with Marseille since 2007 and scored 28 league goals. He has also represented his country, Ghana, over 40 times.

An impressive return last year of 9 league goals saw several English teams send scouts to monitor the player in action at the Stade Velodrome.

"No offers at the moment? Who told you that no great clubs are interested me? Is the summer market already over? It is not my intention to leave Marseille. I am happy here. But if I say I want to leave, there will be offers," said the forward.

"I have always loved England, but I am in no rush.

"You can dream of playing at a higher level, especially at my age, but the most important thing is to carry on improving and become a better player in your position."
