Garcia Wants De Rossi To Stay

14 July 2013 - 18:29

Rudi Garcia, the Roma coach, has expressed his desire to keep Daniele De Rossi from leaving the club this summer. He insists that he wants to retain the talented midfielder despite interest shown by Chelsea.

 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • The 29-year-old had a difficult 2012-13 campaign, after having fallen out with former coach Zdenek Zeman, which led to his exclusion from the starting 11. However, the newly appointed boss, Rudi Garcia, is reportedly keen on retaining the midfielder.
"He is a great player and surely it's better to have him with us than to see him leave," Garcia told reporters.
Talking about Pablo Osvaldo and Marquinhos, he seemed more relaxed but also mentioned his willingness to keep them.
"They are still with us, we would like to keep the best players. But if they were to leave, we will replace them," Garcia said.
Roma will also be adding a new goalie to their squad as Lukasz Skorupski passed a medical and signed a contract with the Serie A side recently.
