Ajax boss backs Eriksen to join Liverpool

15 July 2013 - 08:21

Ajax manager Frank De Boer has told Christian Eriksen that he is free to leave the club if Liverpool make a suitable offer for him. It is understood that Liverpool have made the Danish international their primary transfer target for the rest of the summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Ajax coach has been happy with Eriksen's performances for the Dutch side and is now suggesting the player is free to leave the Amsterdam Arena.<br />

"It is up to Christian what he wants," De Boer said. "If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him. I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.<br />

"But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can't stop him."
