De Boer: ready to let Eriksen quit Ajax

Ajax boss backs Eriksen to join Liverpool

15 July 2013 - 08:21

Ajax manager Frank De Boer has told Christian Eriksen that he is free to leave the club if Liverpool make a suitable offer for him. It is understood that Liverpool have made the Danish international their primary transfer target for the rest of the summer.

  • Chelsea transfer update on Maxence Lacroix
  • England star to join Chelsea in two-year deal
  • The Ajax coach has been happy with Eriksen's performances for the Dutch side and is now suggesting the player is free to leave the Amsterdam Arena.

"It is up to Christian what he wants," De Boer said. "If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him. I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.

"But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can't stop him."
