French midfielder Mathieu Valbuena is wanted by Barcelona. The Marseille winger has emerged as Tito Vilanova's top priority for the upcoming transfer window as Barca look to add some new creative players to their squad for the new season.
The 28-year-old has been with Marseille since 2006 and has gone on to impress in domestic and European competition in recent years. The current contract of Valbuena will expire in 2017, but L'OM are ready to listen to offers in the region of 14 million Euros.
"I can only confirm I had talks with Barca sport director Andoni Zubizarreta about Mathieu some time ago," Christophe Hutteau, Valbuena's agent, told reporters.
"As his whole technical staff considers Mathieu to be a very good player, they all appreciate him."
