Zenit join the race to sign Tottenham target

Russian Premier League side Zenit St.Petersburg have joined the fight to capture the signature of Brazilian striket Leandro Damiao.

The striker has been strongly linked with a switch to White Hart Lane. Damiao had earlier said that won't be guided by the need for Champions League football in making a choice on his next destination and is set to leave Internacional this summer.



Internacional are eager to cash in on the player but want in excess of £20m with Serie A runners up Napoli also monitoring the progress. However, a move to Russian giants Zenit looks more likely given the financial strength they have compared to their rivals.
