The Hammers have made a bid of £1.8m for the 25-year-old Sporting Gijon midfielder Oscar Trejo according to the Daily Mirror.
The West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is looking to add more strength to his midfield department and is willing to buy the attacking midfielder from Gijon this summer. Gijon scored 5 goals in 38 appearances for Sporting Gijon last season.
The Segunda Division side are not willing to accept an offer below their valuation of £2.5m with interest elsewhere in the form of French side Toulouse and Greek champions Olympiakos.
Trejo is understood to be interested in a move to the Premier League and the London club have held initial talks with the former Mallorca player last week.
