Sunderland's deal for Peruzzi falls through again

23 July 2013 - 13:26

Sunderland's hopes for the signing of Argentina defender Gino Peruzzi have been dashed after the club manager Paolo Di Canio revealed that an injury to the full back means that he is unlikely to complete a deal.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Peruzzi's on/off deal from Velez Sarsfield to Sunderland has continuously fallen through despite the Black Cats' best efforts to secure the talented player's signature. The player reportedly failed a medical, then struggled to obtain a work permit.

"At the moment, there is no chance for Gino Peruzzi to join us," said the Italian manager. "My club is not a club that can sign players with some problems.

"We are not Manchester City who can think about buying a talented player with an injury and wait for him."
