Liverpool set to beat Spurs to the signing of Soldado?

24 July 2013 - 00:50

Liverpool are preparing a bid of £26m to acquire the services of La Liga star Roberto Soldado. If the offer is put up, this would match the player's buy-out clause and this would end Tottenham's chances of getting the Spaniard as they are unwilling to dish out more than £24m.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Tottenham have been in talks with Valencia for the Spanish International but have so far failed to get any agreement on the deal as they fell short of the player's buy-out clause in his contract.

This has opened the door for Liverpool, with Brendan Rodgers keen to bring Soldado to Anfield as doubts surround where Luiz Suarez would be for the upcoming season. Liverpool are willing to pay £26m for the 28-year-old as the Red's boss Rodgers looks set to continue on his rebuilding project at Anfield this summer.
