27 July 2013 - 11:45

Newcastle United are believed to have made an improved offer for Olympique Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis according to Sky sources.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • The 27 year old remain one of the top transfer targets for the Magpies this summer despite Lyon having rejected all their advances for the striker.
However, Gomis remains highly inclined towards a move to the Premier League and is understood to be pushing through the deal after failing to show up in a meeting with club president Jean Michel Aulas.
Newcastle's new offer is believed to be in the region of £6.9 million although it is not sure if Lyon would settle for that fee.
The Magpies are also believed to be interested in securing the services of QPR striker Lois Remy ona year long loan deal.
