Thiago Silva signs new PSG contract

Thiago Silva has signed a contract extension at Paris St Germain. The signing will end Barcelona's pursuit of the defender; with the Brazilian signing a year extension to his current contract and taking home a reported 140,000 Euros per week.

The 28-year-old had been linked with Barcelona since the January transfer window and the defender has even admitted that he would love to play for the Spanish giants in the future. However, this new contract extension is sure to mean that Thiago Silva will spend his best years at the French side.<br />

Barcelona were lining up a 46 million Euro move for Silva, who only joined PSG from AC Milan last summer for a fee of 42 million Euros.
