Colombian born forward Juan Agudelo has emerged as a surprise target for Stoke City. Mark Hughes' side have already made a transfer offer for the player - believed to be in the region of 5 million USD - and are confident a deal can be agreed shortly.

Agudelo joined his current club the New England Revolution in May 2013, but an impressive 5 games attracted several Premier League scouts and Stoke City are in the driving seat to wrap up a deal to secure his signature.<br />

The 20-year-old has played many times for the USA national team and so should have no problem securing a work permit in England.
