Steve De Ridder quits Southampton

Southampton have announced that the club and player Steve De Ridder have come to terms on arrangement that allows mutual termination of De Ridder's contract.

The player had been linked with a transfer back to his homeland, with Anderlecht favourites to secure his signature, but instead chose to sign Dutch side FC Twente.<br />

Since arriving from De Graafschap back in 2011, De Ridder played in only 36 games for the South coast club.<br />

"The club thanks Steve for his services over the last two seasons, and wishes him well with his future career," said a statement on the Saints' website.
