West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of centre-back Diego Lugano from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
The Uruguayan national team captain has signed on a two-year deal with the Baggies, and becomes manager Steve Clarke's second summer recruit following the arrival of Nicolas Anelka from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
An official statement from Ligue 1 giants PSG confirming the news read: "Paris Saint-Germain thanks [Lugano] for the professionalism he has shown throughout his contract and wishes him well in the English league.”
Lugano also confirmed his switch to the Hawthorns in his official Twitter account.
He wrote: "[It is] Without doubt the most beautiful and competitive league in the world.”
