West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of centre-back Diego Lugano from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
The Uruguayan national team captain has signed on a two-year deal with the Baggies, and becomes manager Steve Clarke's second summer recruit following the arrival of Nicolas Anelka from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.<br /><br />An official statement from Ligue 1 giants PSG confirming the news read: "Paris Saint-Germain thanks [Lugano] for the professionalism he has shown throughout his contract and wishes him well in the English league.”<br /><br />Lugano also confirmed his switch to the Hawthorns in his official Twitter account.<br /><br />He wrote: "[It is] Without doubt the most beautiful and competitive league in the world.”
