Arsenal set to resume talks with Malaga for want-away striker

03 August 2013 - 07:31

The Gunners are set to resume talks with La Liga side Malaga over the sale of their want-away striker Nicklas Bendtner, according to sources in Spain.

  • Chelsea set to sign midfielder after Danny Welbeck
  • Chelsea confirm striker transfer on two-year deal
  • The Danish international recently rejected a chance to join FC Twente after the Dutch Eredivisie side failed to meet the player's wage demands. Malaga are considered as favorites to strike a deal for the Dane before the close of the summer transfer window.

It had been speculated that the Spanish side are willing to include defender Jesus Gamez as part of the deal, but the Gunners would prefer the transfer to take place as a separate transaction.

Malaga are prepared to offer Nicklas Bendtner a two-year deal, as long as the 25-year-old can take a 50 percent pay-cut to what he currently earns at the Emirates.
