French International Etienne Capoue has stalled on his switch to Premier League outfit Cardiff City in the hope that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid can firm up their interest.

The Bluebirds are believed to have agreed a deal to sign the Toulouse midfielder in what would be a major coup for the recently promoted Premier League side.&nbsp;<br />

Arsenal and Manchester United were also keen on the Frenchman in the past, but the Premier League newcomers had stepped in and a switch to the Welsh club looked all but certain, until the 25-year-old cooled his desire on the switch amid news of Atletico Madrid's interest.<br />

Etienne Capoue would favour a switch to the La Liga giants Atletico Madrid and he is willing to wait for the La Liga giants to come up with a formal bid.&nbsp;
