Serie A club Parma have completed the signing of Fiorentina defender Mattia Cassani on a season long loan deal according to a statement in the club's official website.
The 29 year old Italy international joined La Viola side in 2011 on loan for €2 million with an option to make the move permanent after the end of the season. Fiorentina paid another €2.5 million to Palermo to excercise the option the contract.
However, he did not cement his place in the side and was eventually loaned out to Genoa earlier this year with a buy out option. However, Genoa chose not to buy him at the end of his loan period and sent him back to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
A statement published on Parma's official website read: "Parma have taken defender Mattia Cassani from Fiorentina on a temporary deal with the option to buy."
The Juventus youth product has 11 international caps to his name having made his debut against Northern Ireland back in May,2009.
